Terms of Service
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Effective date: July 16, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and David Lanier (“we”, “us”, “the operator”), who operates TerraLamp (the “Service”) from Washington, United States. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
How we handle your personal information is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Beta notice. The Service is currently in an early/beta stage. Features may change, break, or be removed. Availability and data persistence are not guaranteed.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding contract. The Service is operated from the United States and you may use it from anywhere; you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you where you are.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your password secure.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Notify us promptly at our contact page if you suspect unauthorized use.
- One person per account unless we agree otherwise.
3. What the Service does
TerraLamp lets you configure and generate personalized planner documents (PDFs), optionally incorporating astrological data computed from birth/event details you enter. You control what you build; we provide the tools and generation.
You are responsible for the details you enter. If you enter birth or event data about another person, you confirm you are entitled to do so. Astrological content is provided for personal interest and reflection and is not professional advice of any kind (financial, medical, legal, psychological, or otherwise).
4. Limits and acceptable use
To keep the Service reliable and fair, you agree not to:
- request generation jobs designed to overload the Service (e.g. extreme date ranges or page counts) — we may enforce reasonable limits on date span, page count, and generation volume;
- access, probe, or interfere with accounts, data, or infrastructure that aren’t yours, or attempt to bypass access controls or rate limits;
- scrape, resell access to, or build a competing service from the Service or its outputs except as expressly permitted;
- upload unlawful content or use the Service to infringe others’ rights or violate any law;
- reverse engineer or copy the proprietary parts of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that put the Service or other users at risk.
5. Ownership and rights to what you create
5.1 Your content
You retain ownership of the data you enter (your birth/event details, labels, and configuration choices).
5.2 The generated planners — your license to use them
When you generate a planner, we grant you a license to use that planner PDF for your personal, non-commercial use.
5.3 Our content
The Service itself — the configurator, generation engine, themes, designs, templates, code, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of the Service to you. Astrological calculation libraries or other components we open-source are governed by their own licenses.
6. Service availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we may change these Terms. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will notify you (e.g. by email or in-app notice) and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
We aim for good availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, especially during beta.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that astrological computations or generated documents are error-free or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing what you generate before relying on or printing it.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $20. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right — including any birth/event data you enter about another person without authorization.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by requesting deletion through the contact page (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, governing law) survive.
11. Miscellaneous
- If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- These Terms (with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a business transfer.
